  Starting with this release the rules files keys BUS, ID, SYSFS and DRIVER
  have been deprecated. While rules using the old syntax will continue to
  work, custom rules files using these keys should be updated.

udev (0.097-1) unstable; urgency=low

  The %e parameter is not supported anymore and rules using it must be
  converted to use a different method.
  The cd-aliases.rules rules file has been replaced by the
  cd-aliases-generator.rules rules file which will automatically create
  rules for the /dev/cdrom* aliases.

  Scripts in /etc/dev.d/ and /etc/hotplug.d/ are not supported anymore
  unless the hotplugd.rules rules file is manually enabled.

udev (0.090-1) unstable; urgency=low

  Starting with this release the z45_persistent-net-generator.rules rules
  file is installed by default.
  For every new network interface detected it will use the write_net_rules
  program to write to the z25_persistent-net.rules rules file a rule to
  make the interface name persistent across reboots.

  All files in /etc/udev/scripts/ and /lib/hotplug/ and some files
  in /sbin/ have been moved to /lib/udev/.
  Any custom rules referencing programs in these directories must be updated.

udev (0.070-3) unstable; urgency=low

  * hotplug and coldplug support has been merged in the udev package, which
    will load all the drivers needed as the beginning of the boot process
    and handle hotplug events later.
    The hotplug package has been disabled and should be manually purged.

    This makes the following configuration files obsolete:
    + /etc/hotplug/*.rc and *.agent: the old hotplug files are not used
      anymore. udev rules may be used to selectively disable coldplugging.
    + /etc/hotplug/usb/*.usermap: must be replaced by udev rules.
    + /etc/hotplug/blacklist*: should be replaced by modprobe configuration
      directives (but now /etc/hotplug/blacklist.d/ will be processed by
      modprobe).

  * Because all modules will be loaded erliear hotplug scripts must use
    only files not in /usr or wait for /usr to be mounted.
    Firmwares must be moved to /lib/firmware/.

  * udevtrigger does not guarantee anymore the loading order of modules,
    so if you have multiple CD readers, network cards, sound cards, etc
    they may change their name after a reboot. The package provides
    solutions to generate persistent names in most of these situations.

udev (0.060-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * All rules are applied now, but only the first matching NAME attribute
    will be considered. It may be needed to add OPTIONS="last_rule" to
    custom rules to restore the precedent behavior.
  * The rules keys now support more operations, as documented in the
    man page. Rules which previously used "=" to add a value to a
    list-like variable should be changed to use "+=".
